DJ has the power of Eclectic Mimicry meaning when he hears music he can augment it to grant himself powers. The music playing determines the powers he gets. However it can't be music he himself makes, as far as he knows. It's possible with further training he could hum a song to give him powers. The powers work as follows:

Rap/Hip Hop: Super speed

Blues: Empathy(allows him to manipulate emotions)

DJ is a fun loving loyal person. He enjoys making friends and usually makes friends pretty easily. When he gets those friends he does whatever is necessary to keep them, within reason of course. He likes to just hang out with his friends and listen to and play music. He's usually found listening to or playing some music.
He's a huge flirt and was even voted most flirtatious. And his flirting has no concept of danger. Which was proved when he flirted with X-23. He may not be the most active of students but he'll still play games and what not with his friends. After all his friends are the most important thing to him. He does however have some despression as he feels his powers aren't all that impressive.

DJ isn't the most physically imposing person you'll meet. After all he doesn't get too much exercise. He's rather skinny but has a slight muscular tone to him. But that's bound to happen with the very physical curriculum at Xavier's. His black hair is slightly shaggy but is still well maintained. Although the most noticeable thing about him are his bright blue eyes and charming smile.

Mark was born the middle child of the Sheppard family. WHile his brother was the jock and his sister the brain it seemed as though Mark didn't have a lot going on for him. Except music, he loved music. But one day at a concert his powers manifested resulting in him destroying the stage. He was terrified and ran home. When he got home his parents quickly sent him to Xavier's. They still loved him but knew it was for the best. Especially since his brother wasn't exactly the most mutant friendly person.
Upon arriving at Xavier's he was first placed on the Corsairs before being switched to the Paragons. He made friends quickly and seemed to indeed be quite friendly with the girls. His two best friends were most likely Elixir and Icarus. But then again he considered most his friends. His powers began to quickly developed thanks to experimentation and practice. But that all changed on M Day. He woke up to find his powers gone. But the day just got worse as the bus he was on blew up and he died. But not before telling X-23 she was pretty.
Now though he's returned to the living realm along with his powers. He's not sure why but knows it must be for a reason.

Role-play Example:
It was the memorial for the students killed on M Day. Many students now had gone on ignoring it. But the flowers were still laid in their memory. But suddenly things began to change as the wind picked up blowing some flowers away. There was a shimmering form in front of the memorial and then it became solid. And there stood Mark Sheppard, but better known as DJ. He looked around frantically before gasping and taking a deep breath before coughing. He began patting his chest but not feeling any blood or injuries or anything.
"What the heck?"
He asked looking around at the students who had stopped to stare at them.
"Umm...hi."
He said with a wave before he began to slowly walk towards the school, hoping to find some answers.
