Mutant Power: The first and most obvious of Laura's abilities, is in fact her skeletal structure. Laura's skeleton includes two retractable steel claws in each arm and one claw per leg. Laura can extend or retract these claws at will though it does come at a price. The claws are housed beneath her skin and original bone structure, and she can release one or all six of the claws at once, though that too isn't without it's own demands. The claws are unnaturally sharp, and are stronger than any substance known to man, which allows her to cut through nearly every substance, ( or at least every substance that she's come into contact with).
Another of her powers is Laura's ability to heal her body at a super human rate. She is able to regenerate injured or even destroyed parts of her body, which varies in the speed it takes due to the amount of damage taken. Laura's healing ability, also allows her possesses the ability to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of her cellular structure at a superhuman rate, which varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage she suffers. Laura's natural healing ability also extends to an immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases and other illnesses.
Laura doesn't suffer from fatigue either, due to her super human endurance, agility, and reflexes. She also possesses enhanced senses, which allow her to see and hear things further away than even most mutants, she is able to taste poisons and spoil in foods before others eat them and potentially die, and she is also able to recognize people by their genetic scent, despite any perfume or deodorant one might use. She is able to track them down, even if they are hidden, with an impressive degree of success. Her healing factor has also offered her life longevity, due to the slowing of the effects of aging.
Power Limits: Laura's abilities typically come at a price to her own body, such as the adamantium steel claws that extend and retract from her body. Each time they are used, the steel rips through the many layers of muscle, tendon and skin, to slip to the surface, though she is able to heal at an extreme rate. Using these claws, demands that she keep her wrists/ankles straight at the moment the claws are extended or retracted to afford the proper replacement or extension.
Despite Laura's ability to heal and regenerate, she is not immortal. Injuries that result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and of course the removal of her head, and things of that nature, will surely kill her. Laura, while being one of heightened senses, also suffers from them as well, and for most of her lifetime, she was used as a killing machine using something called a “Trigger Scent†that sent her into violent murderous rages.
Personality: Laura is an unusual teenager. She, perhaps due to her past or perhaps it was destined for her to be a quiet person. Laura appears to be a very shy person, rarely, if ever attending social functions, or getting involved with other people. Laura, however, isn't shy in the least, she just possesses very little social knowledge, and while she tries to make friends, it comes off as a social awkwardness or shyness. Those Laura has made friends with, are pretty much her best friends, and she is terrified that she might lose them, as she lost her mother. She is terrified that she'll be the reason they leave, because she'll kill them.
Despite her fears of hurting those she gets close to, she is a very protective person, to the point that she has no problem fighting with others when it comes to her closest friends. Laura often sees the world as a dangerous place, and feels like most, if not everyone is out for their own good, rather than the good of the whole, and because of that, she rarely trusts anyone. One of Laura's biggest desires is to get passed the Trigger Scent, and perhaps through working with the X-men, She will eventually be able to conquer her fears and her weaknesses, and be able to be a productive member of the team.
Laura has a big issue with disappointment and due to her upbringing, or lack thereof, she is quite depressed, though she doesn't have the whole 'woe is me' attitude in public. She generally sticks to herself, though she is beginning to come out of her shell, allowing herself to talk to others, without fear for their safety from her. Unknown to anyone but her, she has an issue with cutting herself, and despite her enhanced healing abilities, she heals at a normal pace, which also leaves scars behind on her arms.
can't you see we are the same?
Eyes: Almond shaped, Chocolate Brown, heavily lashed.
Hair: Long, ending near the middle of her back, straight and black.
Physique: Laura stands a full five foot four inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has black hair and deep chocolate brown eyes, that are framed in thick, sooty lashes that give her an almost exotic appeal. She has a soft, pale peach skin tone, and has a gently curved figure. As far as clothing is concerned, she is typically found in dark clothing, consisting of tank tops and jeans or leather pants.

History: â€Your name is Laura, and I love you.â€
Dr. Sarah Renee Kinney was a geneticist who worked with both Dr. Martin Sutter and Dr. Zander Rice, who, along with Sarah wanted to create a female clone of the original Weapon X, now known as Wolverine. Dr. Rice initially declined Sarah's request to find a suitable surrogate to bare the child, because he wanted the original Weapon X back in his possession. Sarah, however was certain that her way was the only way that they were going to have a replica of Weapon X, and began to create embryos. The first twenty-two didn't survive, however it was upon the twenty-third trial, that a suitable, surviving embryo was created.
With this knowledge, Sarah went to Dr's. Rice and Sutter. They were both initially outraged that she would think to experiment on her own, though they saw her reasoning, and they didn't want to risk another ten years, and fail once more. Sarah was then forced to be the surrogate mother, and despite her protests, she went ahead with the procedure and for nine months she was monitored day and night. Sarah gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, who was a perfect blend of Sarah and Weapon X. They named the child X-23, due to the fact that she was the twenty-third embryo, and X, of course, after Weapon X.
X-23 was raised in captivity, born and bred to be the perfect weapon. Sarah tried to be a mother to the child as she grew up, though each time she tried, she was either shunned, pushed away, the child placed in a secluded area, or worse yet, at the age of seven, X-23 was exposed to extreme levels of radiation, to speed and strengthen the child's mutation. Dr. Rice, as the child neared her eighth year, painfully removed her claws, and coated them with adamantium, before they were even more painfully, replaced. During X-23's training to become the next Weapon X, Dr. Rice created a “Trigger Scentâ€, a particular smell that would cause X-23 to go into a berserker rage, that would send her on a killing spree, once her heightened senses picked up on the smell.
The first person that the “Trigger Scent†was used on, was Jin Kizamu, the man hired shortly after X-23's birth, to be her combat trainer, and the reason behind using him, was simply because the man was kind to her, and treated her like a human, rather than a weapon in training. After X-23 successfully killed her trainer, Dr. Rice sent her on countless assassination missions, using her, abusing her, and selling her talents to the person with the most money to offer, which only succeeded in leaving X-23 emotionally stunted in the process.
All of this simply wasn't enough for Dr. Rice, for he soon used X-23 to kill Dr. Sutter and his entire family. Once she had returned and was placed in her secluded cell, Sarah snuck in and released her, using her as well, though not for killing, but rather to save her niece, Megan from a known Serial killer who had abducted her. X-23 was sent on her way, Sarah searched further into the laboratory, where she was kept away from and found countless pods, containing more female clones. Once X-23 returned victorious, having saved Megan and killed the murderer, she is given one last task. Kill Dr. Rice and destroy the other clones.
This all would have worked, and Sarah and X-23 could have lived in perfect harmony together, however that was not to be. Dr. Rice managed to use the “Trigger Scent†on Sarah, which forced X-23 to kill her mother. As Sarah lay dying, X-23 curled up into her lap, and for the first time in her life, cried. Sarah, clinging to what bit of life she had, cradled the girl as best she could and whispered, â€Your name is Laura, and I love you.†And with that, Sarah was gone.
Laura took the key that her mother wore around her neck, and entered Sarah's sleeping quarters. It was within that she found information on Wolverine, Charles Xavier, and the X-Men. With everyone that knew about her existence dead, she was free to escape. Soon, Laura found a job as a waitress, working under the table. There she met Jade Parisi, a daughter to a mob boss, and protected her, after a group of men attacked her in the alley way. Laura killed them, which initially looked as though it was done by Wolverine. The X-Men looked into this particular crime. It was shortly after this that she ran into an X-Men squad, who's members boasted, Storm, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, and of course, Wolverine.
Wolverine was like her. Wolverine was who she was made to emulate. Weapon X was bad, and therefore, he was bad. Not exactly a clear, concise picture, but that was all Laura needed to go after Wolverine. She went to attack him, managed to slash his face, which he soon recovered from, and the two began a battle. Nightcrawler mentions how similar X-23 looks to Wolverine. Marvel Girl manages to knock her out, and when Laura woke, Logan is able to calm her down. The group plus Laura return to the institute, to access the situation. After several tests, it's found that Logan is Laura's natural father, though Laura explains what happened while she was in captivity.
Laura was invited to stay, should she wish, and she accepted, though there was a small catch to her staying, she would have to attend proper classes. With very little social skills, Laura found it difficult to fit in, and even took to cutting herself with her claws.
Slowly but surely, Laura began to come out of her shell, but never made it passed being perhaps almost painfully shy. She pushed herself to answer questions, but never revealing anything about herself, her name remaining hidden to everyone, except for Staff.
Everything that seemed so difficult for her, things that had been so easy for the others to get into, such as the socializing and making friends, became unimportant when M-Day hit. So many people were effected.
Classmates, both those kind and those not so kind to her were losing their powers, and even their life essence was sapped from them, and they lie dying around her. She was accustomed to death. She had been born for that very reason, and yet these deaths; deaths of people who were similar to her. Mutants. The people who had been so cruel to her, and those who had tried to befriend the quiet, dark girl.
The smell of smoke, death, and burning flesh assaulted her, but she had a job to do, despite the fact that Emma Frost, hadn't wanted her to participate. She wanted to help, to avenge the deaths of those who hadn't managed to be spared the loss of their powers.
Laura heard two students, Dust and Icarus talking, the latter of which fled the Mansion. Dust was planning to meet up with Icarus, however Laura was able to get to her and tell her that it was a trap. Laura had to knock out her lovely roommate to keep the girl safe. Laura took Dust's burkha to fashion herself as Dust, she entered Stryker's compound, and was soon shot. She took a few moments to heal herself and pretended to be dead. When it was safe, she raced back to the Mansion to help the others fight Stryker and his henchmen.
The remaining students wound up having more respect for her, and began to trust Laura. Following the she started to bond with her classmates and made a few friends. She was able to find out what happened with Icarus, and revealed to the others that Stryker killed him.
Shortly after the attack on the Mansion, Surge received a distress call from Forge, and Laura followed the others to Dallas, Texas to rescue him from the Sentinel Nimrod. During the fight, in which she plunged her claws into the machine, she was injured and unable to heal herself. Hellion, one of the mutants who she had created at least an acquaintanceship with, supercharged his telekinetic powers, with the help of Emma Frost, and she was rushed back to the mansion where she met Joshua Foley for the first time. Joshua, also known as Elixir was able to heal her. It was the first time in her memory that she uttered the words “Thank you.â€
As Hellion recovered, Laura kept watch over him. Shortly after, Emma Frost asked Laura to leave the school, due to the trigger scent, telling her that she was a danger to everyone, including Elixir and Hellion. Before Laura could answer, Mercury came to Laura's defense. Mercury asked Laura to go for coffee, and while there the two discussed Laura's crush on Hellion.
Another conversation cut short due to an interruption, this time the cafe they were in was attacked by Kimura and her underlings. Laura thought she was after her, yet Kimura was actually after Mercury.
Laura went back to the Mansion, and Hellion interrupted her while she is gearing up to attack the facility. He informed her that he was going with her. The two found a place to hide out, while Laura interrogated a man at gun point, to get the information she needed from him. Upon receiving the information, Laura killed the man. Hellion told her that killing was not going to be part of their interrogations, and the two began on their search.
Six months later, no closer to finding an answer, Hellion and Laura return to the Mansion, with Laura seemingly reverting to a prior shy status due to her failure. Elixir and X-23 became closer, as Joshua extended himself as a friend to the introverted female. Thus far, Laura trusts only two people fully, that being Hellion, and Elixir, whom she affectionately calls 'Lixie'.

Role-play Example:
Time keeps on tickin'.. tickin'.. tickin'... Into the future....
The soft sound of Seal's voice pierced the air around her as pale fingertips slipped through blonde unruly tendrils. She was silent, for the most part, other than the casual tap of her hand against the curve of one hip, to the sound of the music. Seal wasn't her typical favorite music, but for the moment it helped to get her into a more 'Auctiony' sort of mood.
Guests would arrive shortly, and they'd be escorted into the grand ball room that had been set up to accommodate fifty people, as well as a vast array of different items. She seemed as if she was simply a woman getting rid of a few things for 'Charity', but in truth, she simply needed some sort of reason as to why she would be a 'rich' woman, and yet not host parties in her home.
The entrance to the Hive was well sealed off, with a secret passage behind a wall, that even if someone had realized was there, they wouldn't have been able to enter, as they needed both a retinal scan and a finger print analysis from either Spencer or herself.
Alice allowed her neck to roll between her shoulders, releasing a bit of tension, before she turned clicking off the music, as the singer belted out..
Fly right into the Future....
How odd that the song would whisper about things that hadn't happened yet..
Alice moved across the kitchen and entered her bedroom. She disrobed, stepped into the shower, adjusted the shower, and began to scrub down, the scent of her body wash flooding the large bathroom with a sweeter scent than the smell of lavender pine-sol she had used earlier in the day to clean. Once she had finished her shower, she moved across and into the bedroom, dressing in an elegant black satin gown, with a light decoration of cubic zirconium’s laced through the fabric, making the dress look like something depicted from the night's sky.
She was just slipping her last earring through her ear when she heard a loud crash, the sound of an entire tray of Champagne falling to the tile floor.
One thing was certain: Spencer was going to be pissed.
