Mutant Power:
Telepathy – Atticus is an accomplished telepath with the ability to read minds, control minds, enter astral projection and communicate telepathically over great distances. He is also able to block his mind and scramble his thoughts to other telepaths.
• Telekinesis – Atticus is able to move almost anything with the power of his mind, an example of this was when he managed to move masses of rubble after a terrorist attack he was trapped in
• Regeneration – Atticus is able to regenerate his body after sustaining an injury making him near enough immortal, the more severe the injury, the more severe the regeneration. For example, if he was to be shot he would simply express the bullet out of his system, but if he was involved in a nuclear explosion then his whole body would regenerate. This can also effect his personality depending on the severity of the injury.

• Power Limits:
Telepathy – Atticus’s telepathy is extremely strong and very little limitations, however he can suffer from immense headaches and worse when confronted by an equally, or more so, powerful telepath. An example of this is when he got into a telepathic battle with Exodus and wound up in a coma.
• Telekinesis – Atticus’s telekinesis requires immense communication and can be dangerous if he loses concentration. His telekinesis is also limited by the weight of the object, although he is able to move extreme weights.
• Regeneration – Atticus’s regeneration makes him near on invulnerable, however, if Atticus is unable to get to a safe location to regenerate after sustaining the injury, i.e. drowning, then he will continually suffer the injury and regenerate, trapping him like that for eternity. Another limitation is that, due to Atticus’s telepathy, if his brain is severely damaged then he is dead. If he is also attacked during a ‘complete regeneration’ then he can possibly go into shock and die.

Personality:
Atticus can be quite a cold individual due to the harsh treatment he has had to endure over his many years. However, he does have a gentle and honourable side. He appears to have quite a dark side and doesn’t believe in second chances and also has a very act first ask questions later attitude sometimes. He is a very mysterious and sarcastic character as well as being incredibly smart.
Atticus does have a lighter side, he is extremely witty, even though the hunour is dry, and also very caring and protective of some of the younger students he comes in contact with, especially those of the X-Men.

this war we're fighting is undecided...
History:
Atticus was born in the 1800s in Oxford, England. At the age of thirteen his mutant powers began to develop, after an argument with his father he accidentally choked him to death due to his telekinesis and made his mother suffer immense brain damage from the devastation of it, he ran away and went to fend for himself.
In his early twenties he participated in WW1 where he met other mutants and formed strong bonds with them, it was also during that war he noticed his power to regenerate after taking a bullet for a friend. During the war however he saw a lot of his friends die which made him distance himself from attatchment. After the war he began to look into finding out more about mutants, which were still a secret to the majority of the world.
He also fought in WW2 where he was taken prisoner by one of the Nazi’s secret concentration camps, one’s designed specifically for mutants. It was here he had his first ‘complete regeneration’ after being trapped in a gas chamber, almost killing him. When the war was over Atticus decided to go travelling in order to study more mutants, on his travels he met up with Erik Lehnsherr and Charles Xavier and struck a bond with both, refusing to take sides when their friendship deteriorated. He still refuses to take a side in a conflict between the two, believing they are both as bad as eachother.
As mutants became more known and the prejudice increased, Atticus went ‘into the shadows’ adopting the nickname Nightshroud, to keep his identity a secret. Atticus at times could become bitter towards the attitudes of non-mutants and would always be on the fence over his view on whether or not the two species could live in harmony.
Atticus has also been an honorary member of the X-Men, helping them in times of crisis, such as the Phoenix Saga, their troubles with the Hellfire Club as well as with Apocalypse’s attacks. He lost his powers during M-Day, a situation that hit him hard, he began to feel aged and frail and therefore went into hiding from the world. Eventually, however he had to go to the Institute for help….

Role-play Example:
Atticus sat at the foot of the hill, his mind still coming to terms with this new regeneration, it had scared him, the whole ordeal. He looked at his hands, well he thought they were his hands, it felt so alien to him. He remembered the strange shape they went as they changed. As he changed.
He closed his eyes and his mind fell back to that horrible time, the way they had forced him into that camp and the way they had treated him, a beast they thought he was. He saw the faces of all the men and women around him, he could hardly tell which were alive and which were dead. Then he remembered the chamber.
It’s very essence was menacing as he was dragged to the Gates of Tartarus itself, he was thrown in and the silence deafened him, his mind cried for help but there was no one near enough to answer him, plus he was to weak, he had been starved and beaten and crumbled to a walking corpse. Then came the hiss.
It was like a snake striking him suddenly as the gas erupted into the chamber, his lungs began crying instantly as his eyes bled from the pain, how would this end? He would just regenerate therefore this was going to go on forever, without thinking he stretched out his arms, mustering all the energy he could and with his mind he pushed back the gas. A soldier stormed into the chamber and hatred swept over Atticus. He released the gas and channelled it at the soldier, Atticus’s eyes glowed a dangerous gold as they burned into the man like the gas, within seconds the man was dust, nothing more, nothing less.
Atticus struggled to his feet, his mind foggy with a lust to destroy and revenge, he slowly walked through the complex of death, every Nazi he saw never had the chance to see him as they evaporated into the air. He has managed to channel the radiation and poisonous gas he had absorbed into a dangerous and gruesome weapon.
He stepped out into the courtyard where those surviving mutants stood in awe and fear, with a simple wave of his hand the barbed
wire gates opened, and he fell.
As his knees hit the ground Atticus screamed in unimaginable pain, he felt his skin burning off his bones as his organs writhed and withered. His mind went insane as he re-lived every memory he had in this body, he saw his parents life leave his eyes, his mother’s eyes ghostly stare, the eyes of his comrade stare into a nothingness that only they could see now, and Atticus screamed. Just screamed
